Perspective API
by leawind
Perspective API is a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge library that manages camera perspectives for Minecraft clients.
What it does
Perspective API provides a framework for extending the camera perspectives of Minecraft. It exposes standardized interfaces built on the JOML library to read and set camera state such as position, rotation and field of view, which keeps mods that use it decoupled from Minecraft internals. Only the client needs it, and the mod is open source under the MIT License. Builds exist for 1.20.1 – 26.2, and Mod Menu and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) are optional dependencies.
Key features
Perspective wheel
Holding F5 opens a perspective wheel for choosing between camera views while playing.
Configure mode
Right-clicking while holding F5 enters a configure mode where icons on the wheel can be dragged and enabled or disabled.
Standardized camera interfaces
Mods read and change camera position, rotation and field of view through shared interfaces rather than engine internals.
