Peculiar Peppers
by jakeitsune
Peculiar Peppers adds chili peppers that grow in savannas and meadows, plus chili hot dogs, hot sauce and cheese foods that inflict a heat status effect.
What it does
Chili peppers can be found growing in savannas and meadows, where sunlit grass is exposed to the sky. Eating a chili pepper applies Caliente, a new status effect that sets foes alight. Players who drink from a water bucket or a milk bucket can clear the effect, and Hot Sauce brewed from a chili pepper gives Caliente III at its highest level. Chili hot dogs combine meat with peppers for a hotter meal, and even plain hot dogs work as a snack.
Hot dogs come from bread, raw meat and a campfire, furnace or smoker, cooking faster than other foods. Cheese is made from a milk bucket and rock salt, and shredded cheese can be uncrafted for three piles. Cheese wedges remove the poison and wither effects, while holding rock salt damages zombies and other undead creatures, and the salt itself comes from breaking stone, granite, diorite, andesite, basalt, smooth basalt or calcite, where Fortune raises the odds by a set amount per level. Lucky shamrocks spawn when grass is broken, and a four-leaf clover held in the off-hand boosts luck for the fishing rod and tools.
