OthouMod

by Augma

OthouMod is a Fabric quality-of-life mod for survival play, adding small conveniences that the author wrote for personal use before sharing it.

FabricClient and serverApache License 2.0Open source1.21.5 – 1.21.11

What it does

Several of its features target common annoyances in survival worlds. Endermen are kept from picking up blocks, so the world is not gradually altered. Chests, barrels and other containers can be opened through item frames, and villagers can be leashed. A day counter appears in the top-left corner of the screen, so the in-game day is visible without a clock or command.

The mod also includes two keybound shortcuts. One runs a compact command from the world view, and the other uses the item under the cursor while the inventory is open. Because it is client and server, the server and every player need it. It requires Fabric API, and files are published for 1.21.5 and 1.21.11, with the latest Fabric file at 3.0 for 1.21.11. The source code and issue tracker are public, and the code is released under the Apache License 2.0.

Key features

  1. Enderman grief prevention

Endermen are stopped from picking up blocks, which keeps builds and terrain from being slowly removed.

  2. Item frame container access

Chests and barrels can be opened through an item frame, so storage can be reached from a wall without standing beside it.

  3. Villager leashing

Villagers can be attached to a lead, making it easier to move them between rooms or into a trading hall.

  4. Day count display

The current in-game day is shown in the top-left corner of the screen at all times.

  5. Keybound shortcuts

One key runs a compact command from the world view, and another uses the hovered item from the inventory screen.
