Ore XP Orbs makes Copper, Iron and Gold ores drop experience orbs when mined, and keeps Fortune and Silk Touch working as in vanilla.

What it does

Mining a Copper, Iron or Gold ore now releases XP orbs, both for regular ores and for their Deepslate versions. Because the experience arrives as orbs rather than being added straight to the XP bar, it behaves the way vanilla experience does. Mending tools and armor pick up the orbs and use them to restore durability, just like vanilla XP.

Fortune still multiplies ore drops normally. Silk Touch keeps the ore block intact and prevents the XP drop, matching the vanilla Coal Ore comparison. The mod is compatible with Mending. Fabric API is required on Fabric, and the mod is published for Fabric and Quilt.

Files target 26.1 – 26.3, with 26.3 as the latest release. The server needs the mod, while players may leave it out. The code is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. A public issue tracker collects feature requests and suggestions for other ores and compatibility.

Yes. Fabric API is required when the mod runs on Fabric. The Quilt file is installed the same way with its own dependencies.

Does a server need the mod for players to get the orbs?

The server requires the mod, while the client can leave it out. Players without the mod still join the server, but they do not see the new drops.
