Tritium
Tritium targets slow frames and stalls in Minecraft, with rendering and server-side tweaks gathered into one optimization module.
What it does
Tritium bundles several optimization features. On the client it speeds up switching the interface language, reduces the frame rate while the game window is unfocused or minimized, and adds leaf culling options ported from OptiFine. On the server it combines nearby dropped items and orbs of experience when entities are dense, and stops ticking entities and fluids far from players. Forge builds also replace generated event classes with lambda constructors to speed up listener setup.
Cloth Config API, Mod Menu and Modern Mixins are required on every loader. Either side can run it, and neither needs it. The mod is open source under the MIT License and is published for 1.13 – 1.21.8 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with Legacy Fabric, Ornithe and Rift beta builds for 1.13.2.
Key features
Fast language switching
Switching languages is sped up by intercepting resource bundle reloading, which shortens the wait after a change.
Leaf culling
Foliage rendering follows smart options ported from OptiFine, so hidden leaves can be skipped while drawing.
Entity stacking
Nearby dropped items and experience orbs merge when entity density is high, reducing the load on busy areas.
Distant entity tick reduction
Entities and fluids far from the player stop ticking, which trims server work while the player is elsewhere.
Dynamic framerate
The framerate drops to 1 FPS while the window is unfocused and rendering pauses when the window is minimized.

Use cases
Busy multiplayer servers
Entity stacking and distant tick reduction target servers where many items, orbs and mobs accumulate.
Long play sessions
Dynamic framerate lowers the load when the game is in the background during long sessions.
Who it’s for: Players who want client rendering tweaks and server owners who want to reduce the work done on crowded or distant entities.
How it compares
Graphene is open source under the MIT License, works on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.12.2 – 1.21.9, and either side can run it without the other. betterperf is client-side only, open source under the MIT License and built for Fabric 1.20.1. Put A Plug In it! needs the client but the server can skip it, is open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.15.2 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.
