OpenAuthMod
by RaphiMC
OpenAuthMod is a Minecraft authentication protocol proxy for Java Edition players who want to join servers through a separate account login flow.
What it does
The mod is an open source authentication protocol proxy, published for Fabric, Forge and Quilt across 48 release versions. Its files target 1.8 – 1.19.4, and the latest Fabric and Quilt builds cover 1.18.2 and 1.19.4. Only the client needs it, so servers run without it and players do not need to install anything on the server side.
Released under the MIT License, the source code and issue tracker are public. Releases are only uploaded for the latest version, while older versions were found in the project's GitHub repository, which is where a player finds builds for an earlier release. The author notes also name a standalone ViaVersion proxy called VIAaaS, which is a separate project rather than part of this mod.
Key features
Authentication proxy
Handles the login handshake with Minecraft authentication servers so connections can pass through the proxy.
Older Forge branches
Forge branches for 1.8 and 1.14 are published alongside the newer builds, so older servers can still be reached through the proxy.
Public source
The code is visible in the public repository, so anyone can read how the login flow is implemented.

Use cases
Joining through a proxy
Players who connect through an authentication proxy install the matching build for their loader and game version on the client.
Who it’s for: Players who use an authentication proxy to join servers, and developers who want to read or adapt an open source login implementation.
How it compares
AuthProxy is a server-side only Fabric mod under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, published for 1.16 – 26.1.1. Authentication is a Fabric-only MIT-licensed mod covering 1.0 – 26.2, with no environment set in the catalog. Where OpenAuthMod is client-side only and open source, these alternatives target the server or the Fabric loader alone.
