One Click One Block (1C1B)
by LucunJi
One Click One Block, called 1C1B for short, limits breaking to a single block per click, so a fast click does not take out the block behind the first one.
What it does
After the first block breaks, 1C1B adds a short delay before another block can be broken. This stops an accidental second break when the player clicks quickly or holds the attack button down with an instant-mining tool. The delay is configurable, and a hotkey can switch the behavior off for a moment when a player needs to clear a whole area.
The mod is client-side only, so a server does not need to install it and players on any server can use it alone. Builds cover 1.20 – 1.21.8 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. Cloth Config API is required, and Configured and Mod Menu add an in-game settings screen when present. Source code and an issue tracker are public. The mod is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later.
Key features
Single-block breaking
A short delay follows each broken block, so the next block is not removed by an accidental click.
Configurable delay
The length of the delay can be adjusted in the settings to suit the player's clicking speed and tools.
Hotkey toggle
A key binding temporarily turns the single-block behavior off, for players who want to break many blocks in a row.

Mining with instant-break tools
Players using tools that break blocks at once can avoid taking out a neighboring block by mistake.
Building and farm cleanup
Players placing torches, carpets or water sources can click without wiping out a row of blocks.
Who it’s for: Players who break blocks quickly with fast or instant-break tools and want one block removed per click.
How it compares
Selective Mining works on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.16 – 1.21.8 and is also client-side only, but it is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. Mining Cool Down Fix [Forge] is client and server and open source under the MIT License for 1.18.2 – 1.20.6 on Forge and NeoForge, so the server must run it too. No Mining Delay is client and server, MIT licensed and open source, and only exists for Forge 1.18.2.
