NumFlux
by Mr.Toad
With NumFlux installed on a server, several entity and item calculations run through simpler math, which lightens the load on busy worlds.
What it does
NumFlux is a small server-only optimization mod for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt. It speeds up certain interactions between entities and simplifies some mathematical formulas the game evaluates each tick. Its changes are aimed at servers that are heavily loaded with dropped items, arrows, ground mobs and similar entities within a large radius.
The author lists a typical performance gain of about 2–4%, with more reported in the most crowded cases. Other changes cover arrow particles, the fix for burning arrows, a rework of the mob despawn mechanism and minor improvements that use zero-GC caches. A separate set of client-side optimizations is handled by GPUBooster, a fork created to keep server functions apart from the original code.
Architectury API is required on every loader, so it must be installed alongside NumFlux. The mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Files exist for 1.20.5 – 26.3, with the latest builds for 26.3 on Fabric and NeoForge and 26.1.2 on Quilt.
Key features
Faster formula evaluation
Certain mathematical formulas used during entity and item updates are replaced with simpler calculations.
Arrow particle and fire fixes
Arrow particle handling is adjusted, and burning arrows are corrected so they behave as intended.
Reworked mob despawn
The despawn mechanism for mobs is improved to reduce the work done on crowded server areas.
Zero-GC caches
Minor improvements use caches built to avoid garbage collection overhead during frequent operations.
Compatibility

Use cases
Busy survival servers
Servers with many dropped items, arrows and mobs in a large radius are where the entity-related changes apply most.
Mob-heavy worlds
Worlds with large mob populations benefit from the despawn rework and the cheaper entity calculations.
Who it’s for: Server owners who run survival or multiplayer worlds with heavy entity counts. Players who only join a server gain nothing, since the mod needs no client install.

What the author says
The typical performance boost is about 2–4%; however, if the server is heavily loaded with items, arrows (on the ground), or mobs within a large radius, the boost can reach 10% or more. This mod is a fork of GPUBooster and was created with the goal of separating server-side functions and moving the original…
