Null Presence

by Sgox

Null Presence is a Forge horror mod for 1.20.1 that adds a silent entity whose rare appearances and traces unsettle the player.

ForgeClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.01.19.2 – 1.20.1

What it does

The entity can appear directly behind a player during ordinary actions such as digging, walking, jumping or chopping wood. It can also stand far away and stare, show up near windows inside a base, or wait at the end of a small tunnel. Sometimes it leaves only a trace, and sometimes nothing happens at all. Looking straight at the entity usually makes it vanish.

Some events change the world lightly, such as redstone torches placed in odd spots, signs, and small traces, while bed nightmares add another source of unease. Builds are released under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0 license and are not open source.

The mod runs on Forge for 1.19.2 and 1.20.1, and both the server and every player need it. The current release is alpha.

Key features

  1. Silent appearances

The entity shows up rarely and quietly, so each encounter is hard to predict.

  2. Distant watcher events

The entity can stand far away and stare at the player from across the terrain.

  3. Behind-the-player encounters

It can appear directly behind the player during ordinary actions like digging or walking.

  4. Window and base intrusions

It can be seen near windows and inside bases, and tunnel stalking happens in small tunnels.

  5. In-game configuration

A configuration system lets the server or a player adjust several parts of the mod and check its current status.
