NPC Variety
NPC Variety changes the look of villagers and zombie villagers, giving them skin tones, eye colors and sleeping behavior drawn from their biome.
What it does
Villagers receive a skin tone from a range of eight, from white to black, with most sitting near the vanilla villager colors and the rest set by biome climate. Some randomization is applied, so a village rarely looks uniform. Ravagers also receive eye colors, and the mod supports five of them, including amber and brown.
Villagers close their eyes while sleeping, and only villagers sleep, so other mobs keep their eyes open. Traits pass from parents to children. Zombie villagers take one of the eight skin tones and keep a red eye, and they retain their look when converting back and forth and after being cured.
NPC Variety runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. It requires Fabric API. Files are published for Fabric only, across the release range shown on the page, and the code is not open source, with all rights reserved by the author, Yumatan Games. A Forge version is planned but not yet released.
