NiftyCarts

by jmb05

With NiftyCarts, horse-drawn carts can be hitched to a mount, with six cart types for travel, shipping and farming.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.18.2 – 1.21.11

What it does

Carts attach to a nearby entity and detach from the one the player rides, using the Action Key (default R). Pressing Sprint once toggles a slow mode in which the mount and cart move more slowly. Players can also haul a cart on foot in a similar way, and cart types differ in inventory size, seat count and tool slots.

The mod is a Fabric port and requires Fabric API and Forge Config API Port. It is published for Fabric only, across 15 game versions 1.18.2 – 1.21.11, with 21.11.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest file. Client and server both need it, and the code is open source under the MIT License, with public links to the source and the issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Double chest storage

One cart holds the inventory of a double chest, while a smaller supply cart offers 27 slots.

  2. Seats for riders

A cart can carry one passenger in the back, and another cart seats two players on mobs.

  3. Tool slots on carts

A cart has space for three tools: hoes, shovels and axes.

  4. Block actions by tools

The tools act on the block beneath the cart, tilling soil, making paths and stripping logs.
