Nice Baby Mounts
by NiceRon
Nice Baby Mounts lets some Mobs spawn with a baby mount on their back, and players can rename most baby entities to keep them babies.
What it does
When a mob spawns, a chance applies that it appears with a baby mount riding on its back. Which mobs qualify is set through the mod's configuration and data, and the list covers common passive animals, villagers, axolotls, wolves, cats, llamas, horses and camels. Naming a baby entity with a name tag reading Baby keeps it a baby, while most other baby entities can be renamed away from that state.
Server owners can change the set of mobs that spawn with baby mounts by using a data pack, adding or removing entries from the mobs tag. The mod runs on a server, and players who join do not need it, because only the server side applies the rules. Installation needs Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt, and files target 1.21.3, 1.21.4 and 1.21.5, with 1.5 for 1.21.5 as the latest build. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.
Key features
Random baby mounts
A configurable chance lets mobs spawn with a baby mount on their back instead of as plain mobs.
Name tag control
Naming a baby entity Baby keeps it a baby, and most other baby entities can be renamed to be grown up.
Data pack mob list

On PaperMC and forks such as Purpur, the allow-non-player-entities-on-scoreboards option must be enabled for the rules to work.

Use cases
Themed farms and villages
Server owners can give a survival world mounted babies in villages and farms, changing how common passive mobs look.
Custom mob sets
A data pack can decide exactly which mobs gain baby mounts, so a modpack can limit the feature to a chosen group.
Who it’s for: The mod suits server owners and modpack authors who want mobs with baby mounts and control over which ones get them.
