New Music Disc

by Neoz30

New Music Disc adds eight music discs to the game, each carrying a track made by Minecraft fans, for players who want new songs to play.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.4

What it does

Each of the eight discs plays a song credited to its author, and the disc's name and creator appear on the item. The songs were created by Minecraft fans from YouTube, including tracks by Nameless Guy and Bling Bling Cheese, and the mod lists the author name for every disc in the game.

Because the discs are regular items, they can be placed in jukeboxes and played like the vanilla records. The mod runs on the Fabric loader with the client and server both needing it, and the code is open source under the MIT License. A single build exists for 1.20.4, released on 2024-03-02 as version 1.1.

Key features

  1. Eight new discs

The mod adds eight music discs that can be obtained and played in the same way as the vanilla records.

  2. Fan-made tracks

Each song was created by a Minecraft fan and published on YouTube before it was added to the discs.

  3. Named authors

Every disc shows the name of the creator of its track, so players can see who made the music they hear.

  4. Jukebox playback

The discs play from a jukebox like the standard records, letting players build listening setups in their bases.
