NEI adds an info overlay that shows game time, real-life time, day ticks, entity health and light level, and it can be toggled off.
What it does
NEI is a data pack that displays useful information during play. Its readouts include real-life time, in-game time, game day ticks, the health of entities and the light level at the player's position. Each readout can be switched off, so a player who wants less on screen can keep only the lines they need.
Options open through a main display menu, reached with the trigger command nei. From that menu the toggle options can be changed, and clicking CONFIG opens the configure options. Server owners can add admins with the tag add nei admin command, and admins open the admin menu with the trigger nei admin.
Only the server has to run the data pack, since players may leave it out. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the latest build, 2.1+mod for 1.21.11, is dated 2025-12-11. Builds cover 1.20.3 – 1.21.11. NEI is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license and is not open source.
