Muffin's Slime Golem

by firemuffin303

Muffin's Slime Golem adds a slime golem built from a carved pumpkin, a slime block and a packed slime block, and it changes how slime chunks behave.

FabricForgeQuiltClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.19 – 1.21.1

What it does

A slime golem is built by placing a carved pumpkin on top of a packed slime block set on a slime block. Once the golem enters a slime chunk, it leaves slime algae on the ground, much like snow, and the golem attacks hostile mobs other than slimes. Shears remove the pumpkin, and a honeycomb stops the algae from forming by covering the chunk with honey. A slime ball cleans the honey off a golem that has been coated, so algae production resumes in that chunk.

Soul campfires disable slime chunks, so the effect can be turned off in areas where players do not want it. The mod adds slime golems to the game, and the author notes describe it as a helper for finding slime chunks. Resourceful Config and Resourceful Lib are required, and Cloth Config API is optional. The code is under the MIT License and is open source. Files exist for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, across six release versions 1.19 – 1.21.1, and the environment is client and server.

Key features

  1. Slime golem construction

A golem is built from a carved pumpkin on a packed slime block set on a slime block.

  2. Slime algae in slime chunks

Inside a slime chunk, the golem spreads slime algae on the ground, similar to how snow forms.

  3. Honey and slime ball cleanup

A honeycomb halts algae production by covering the chunk in honey, and a slime ball clears the honey from the golem.

  4. Soul campfire control

A soul campfire disables the slime chunk effect, so players can turn it off where it is not wanted.

Use cases

Finding slime chunks

Players who need slime chunks for farms can use the golem as a marker, since it produces visible algae in those chunks.

Who it’s for: Players who want a mob that reacts to slime chunks, and server owners who want a slime golem as an optional feature. Clients and servers both need the mod.
