MT AutoTool
by MEGATREX4
MT AutoTool switches to the most suitable tool or weapon in the hotbar as the player mines a block or attacks a mob, based on the target being interacted with.
What it does
Once the client loads it, MT AutoTool watches the target under the crosshair. When a block is being mined, it picks the tool in the inventory that breaks that block most efficiently. When a mob or entity is attacked, it equips the weapon from a configurable priority list. The switch happens without a key press, so the player keeps both hands on movement and combat.
The mod is a client-side only addition: only the client needs it, and a server does not have to run it, so players can join a vanilla server without installing anything else. It requires Fabric API and Cloth Config API, and it is published for Fabric only, with a single file for 1.21.4. The code is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license, so it is not open source, though its source code and issue tracker are public.
Settings are kept in a config file. A weapon order list such as sword, trident, axe sets the priority of weapons, an auto-switch toggle turns the feature on or off, and a debug setting adds detailed logging when something needs checking. Because the mod is lightweight and runs on the client, its settings only affect the local game.
