Mouse Sensitivity Multiplier

by tropicbliss

Mouse Sensitivity Multiplier scales the mouse sensitivity Minecraft already applies, letting players move past the limits of the built-in slider.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 1.21.11

What it does

The mod applies a customizable multiplier on top of the current mouse sensitivity setting. Rather than swapping out Minecraft's built-in sensitivity logic, the mod layers on top of it, so the slider still sets the base value and the multiplier scales the outcome. Players who want finer control over mouse movement can set the multiplier as needed.

The mod suits two situations. Players using a gaming mouse with 1600 DPI or more often find that Minecraft's lowest sensitivity still feels too fast for precise building or PvP, and the multiplier can lower it further without changing the hardware DPI. Players with a mouse at 400 to 800 DPI may find even the maximum in-game sensitivity feels sluggish, and a multiplier above one raises the effective sensitivity past the vanilla limit.

Installation requires Fabric API. The mod is client-side only, so only the client needs it and servers run without it. It is published for Fabric across 12 release versions, 1.21 – 1.21.11, and is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Multiplier on top of the slider

A customizable multiplier is applied to the sensitivity Minecraft already uses, so the in-game slider still sets the base value.

  2. Lower than the vanilla minimum

Values below one reduce sensitivity past the lowest slider position, which helps with high-DPI mice.

  3. Higher than the vanilla maximum

Values above one raise effective sensitivity past the highest slider position, which helps with low-DPI mice.

  4. Hardware DPI stays unchanged

Sensitivity is tuned inside the game, so the mouse's own DPI settings do not need to be adjusted each time.

Questions

Does Mouse Sensitivity Multiplier need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is required and must be installed alongside the mod on Fabric.

Does the server need the mod?

No. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it.

Does the multiplier replace the sensitivity slider?

No. The mod applies its multiplier on top of the sensitivity value already set in Minecraft, so the slider still determines the base value.
