morpher
by BadEndingg
With Morpher, the player model is swapped for a custom Geckolib model that plays animations imported from the player's own files.
What it does
Morpher changes how the player is rendered. Instead of the default body, the player appears as a custom model built with Geckolib, and the animations shown are ones the player has imported. Models, textures and animations are placed in a morpher folder, and a command then selects which model to render. Morpher needs Better Runtime Resource Pack (BRRP) and Geckolib to run, and both must be installed alongside it.
The mod is built for Fabric and Forge across the 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 range, with files for 1.20.1, 1.20.4 and 1.21.1. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Its code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code is publicly available.
Key features
Custom player model
The default player rendering is replaced by a Geckolib model the player provides.
Imported animations
Animations placed in the animations folder play on the imported model instead of the vanilla ones.
Textures for models
A texture file placed in the textures folder is applied to the matching geo model.
Command-based selection
A command selects the model to render, so a player can switch between imported setups.

Use cases
Custom character models
A player who builds a character in Geckolib can bring it into the game and see it on their own avatar.
Animated roleplay
Players who want their avatar to move in a set style can import animations and play them in-game.
Who it’s for: Players who create their own Geckolib models and animations and want to see them on their player character. Server owners who run a shared setup need the mod on the server and on each client.
How it compares
Animorph is client-side only, so players can use it without the server, and it is not open source; it is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 1.21.11. Geo's double doors is a Fabric mod for 1.21.1 – 1.21.5 that runs on client and server and is open source under the MIT License, which is a narrower version range and a different purpose. Geo Tracer is server-side only, not open source, and published for Forge 1.20.1 alone.
