More Density Functions
Owner not published
More Density Functions gives datapack authors extra density functions for controlling terrain shape during world generation, and it is only needed on the server.
What it does
Density functions are the numeric building blocks that shape terrain noise in a world generation datapack. This mod adds further functions that a datapack can reference, including simplex noise and multi-input functions, so terrain designs can use more kinds of input than the vanilla set provides.
The mod is server-side only, so players join a server that runs it without installing anything. It is released under the MIT License and is open source. Files exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 24 release versions, 1.19 – 1.21.11, and the latest file is 2.3.0 for 1.21.11 on Fabric. The mod is required by Still Life, Oceanus and Bad Apple World Preset, so those mods also rely on it being present.
Key features
Additional density functions
The mod registers new density function types that world generation datapacks can reference by name.
Simplex noise
A simplex noise function is available for producing smooth noise values in terrain shaping.
Cache2D with stable caching
The Cache2D function keeps its cached values without invalidating them on every call, reducing repeated computation.
Cache Once
A Cache Once function stores a value for a single evaluation pass, for cases where a result is reused.
Multi-input functions
Functions such as moredfs:add accept a list of density functions as their input arguments instead of only two.

Use cases
Custom terrain datapacks
Datapack authors can combine the added functions with vanilla ones to shape hills, cliffs and caves.
Server world generation
Server owners running a custom world can load datapacks that depend on these functions without requiring client installs.
Who it’s for: Datapack authors who write custom world generation, and server owners whose worlds use datapacks that reference these density functions.
How it compares
Lithostitched is server-side only, open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.20 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, so it sits at a different layer of world generation. Custom Ore Veins is also server-side only and open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.20 – 1.21.5 on the same three loaders.
