Modern Metro is a Fabric rail mod that adds variable speed powered rails and directional powered rails to the minecart system.
What it does
Modern Metro refreshes the minecart rail system of the base game. It introduces variable speed powered rails and directional powered rails, and refines the rail elements that already exist in vanilla. Rails range from the Accelerator Rail at 5 m/s up to Power Rail VI at 120 m/s, so a track can be tuned for slow stations or fast long-distance runs.
Because it sits on Fabric API, the mod is installed through a Fabric loader alongside that dependency. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Files cover 1.21 and 1.21.1, and the newest release is 1.1.3 for 1.21.1, published on 2025-04-03. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source, with public links to the source, issue tracker and wiki.
