Powerful Powered Rails

by seefourr

Powered Rails, a Minecraft rail block, gets a faster boost in Powered Rails Mod on Fabric for servers.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.2 – 1.21.9

What it does

Powered Rails Mod quadruples the acceleration that Powered Rails give a minecart, raising the boost from 0.24 m/tick to 96 m/s squared. The change applies on the server, so players join without installing anything. Files are published for Fabric only, across eight game versions 1.21.2 – 1.21.9, with 1.0-1.21.2+ as the latest file dated 2025-09-09. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Faster powered rails

Powered Rails accelerate minecarts four times as strongly as in vanilla, shortening long rail runs.

  2. Boosted minecart speed

Every powered rail pushes a minecart harder, so carts reach top speed sooner on straight track.

  3. Longer rail runs

Stretches of powered rail move carts faster, letting long routes be covered with fewer rails.

What the author says

This mod simply increases that acceleration to 0.24 m/tick (96 m/s 2 ). The acceleration is currently not configureable through a file... because I'm actually not that good at modding and don't know how to do that. The source code is extremely easy to modify and compile if you wish to though. If you don't know how to…
