MobMind: AI Conversations
by Demor1313
With MobMind installed, a player can hold V while looking at a mob and speak to it through a microphone, and the mob answers with AI-generated replies.
What it does
MobMind lets players talk to mobs in the world. Speech is recognized locally in Russian or English, and the text is sent to the DeepSeek AI service, so mobs answer freely rather than repeating prepared lines. Each mob type has its own personality and a distinct voice profile, and villagers come in ten voice variations. Fabric API is required, and the mod is for Fabric only, with Minecraft 26.1.2 as the only supported game version.
A player can order mobs to follow, stay put, wander or guard, haggle with villagers over trade prices, and win over peaceful creatures. Hostile mobs can be asked to stop, and friendly creepers can be told to stop exploding. Villagers include special philosopher types for longer conversations. The environment is client-side only, so servers run without it, but a DeepSeek API key is needed for AI replies and a server administrator configures it with the server commands.

Use cases
Companion mobs
Players can ask a mob to follow, stay or protect them, which suits roleplay-focused survival worlds.
Trading with villagers
Negotiating prices by voice gives villager trades a conversational step before a deal is made.
Who it’s for: Players who want spoken interaction with mobs on Fabric, and who are willing to set up a DeepSeek API key for AI replies.
How it compares
VillagerGPT is open source under the MIT License and covers Fabric 1.19 – 26.2, so it reaches further in versions than MobMind, which only targets 26.1.2. Voiceless Survival is not open source, is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.16.5 – 26.1.2, and needs the client and server to run it, unlike MobMind.
