Mob Charms

by mewoDev

Mob Charms, a Forge mod for 1.20.1, adds charms that grant the wearer abilities borrowed from mobs, such as calling reinforcements, climbing walls or exploding on command.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Each charm is crafted from a vanilla material tied to its mob. A rotten flesh and bone block charm lets the wearer summon zombies that match normal zombies but have a shorter attack range, and a spider eye charm allows wall climbing when the player looks at a block close enough. A slime block charm removes sprinting and walking in exchange for a much higher jump. A TNT charm makes the wearer immune to explosions while letting them explode on a key press, though it offers no protection from explosives and the explosion requires blast protection to survive.

Some charms work in specific conditions. Wearing a sun-related charm lets the player burn in sunlight and be careful about water, while touching water while equipped causes rapid damage on several charms. Charms that grant underwater speed or snowball shooting sit beside charms for ender pearl teleportation, a ravager roar that knocks back nearby enemies, and a permanent slow falling effect. The ravager charm drops with a 50% chance when a ravager is killed. Mob Charms requires Curios API on Forge. Both sides need the mod, so the server and every player install it. The mod is published for 1.20.1 only, with the latest Forge file 1.3.0 for 1.20.1 dated 2024-12-01.

What the author says

Crafted using rotten flesh and a bone block, this charm grants the wearer the ability to call reinforcement zombies by pressing Z. (the special ability key for charms that have one) Summoned zombies are identical to normal zombies, but with slightly less attack range. Be careful when wearing this in the sun though…
