Missing Wilds
by UltrusBot
Missing Wilds restores the birch forest features that were cut from the Wild Update, adding taller birch trees, fallen logs, mushrooms, flowers and fireflies.
What it does
The Better Birch Biomes feature grows taller birch trees decorated with polypore mushrooms, and fallen logs lie scattered across the forest floor. Logs of this kind can be entered by crawling, since they are hollow, and they can be crafted from any log type. Polypore fungi sprout from the trunks of birch trees, and players can cook them to make them safe to eat. Forget Me Not patches and Tall Sweetspire flowers fill the birch forest as well.
Fireflies appear in the forest and can be collected into jars that give off light and ambience. Jars can store fireflies and food, with more storage planned for future updates. The mod includes built-in support that adds fallen logs from other mods. Missing Wilds requires Fabric API on Fabric and Quilted Fabric API or Quilt Standard Libraries on Quilt, and Dynamic Asset Generator is an optional dependency. It is a client and server mod, so both the server and every player need it. Files cover 1.18.2 – 1.21.1 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
