Minor client fixes

by Mqrshe

Minor Client Fixes is a client-side Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that corrects a handful of small vanilla bugs.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Minor Client Fixes addresses small defects in the base game that Mojang has not corrected. Several of the fixes concern the book interface, including vertical centering of the book GUI and a change to the maximum book title length from 16 to 15 characters. Other corrections cover the rendering of a held crossbow, which had its main hand positioned incorrectly while loaded, and the sound slider, which did not control the volume of raid horns as expected.

The mod is aimed at players who want a few minor bugs fixed without changing the rest of the game. It is a client mod: players install it, and servers run without it, because the changes only affect what the player sees and hears. The mod is published only for Fabric, with a single file for the 1.20.1 game version, released on 2023-08-26. The code is not open source, and the mod is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Centered book interface

The book GUI is drawn vertically centered, so pages sit in the middle of the screen rather than shifted.

  2. Book title length

The maximum length of a book title is reduced from 16 characters to 15.

  3. Crossbow hand position

A loaded crossbow held in the offhand is no longer positioned wrongly in the main hand.

  4. Raid horn volume

Raid horn sounds respond to the sound slider in the options menu, so their volume can be lowered like other sounds.
