Mine Frame Gen
by horigotatsu
With Mine Frame Gen, a client-side Minecraft player can insert generated frames between rendered ones to raise the frame rate on Fabric or NeoForge.
What it does
Mine Frame Gen enables frame generation inside Minecraft. Minecraft renders frame B, and the mod saves the screen, then overlays B with a semi-transparent copy to create an intermediate frame C. Instead of moving straight from B to the next rendered frame, the display shows the sequence C then B. The mod simulates frame generation through frame blending, and the author states it reaches roughly 2x to 1.5x the frame rate. Shaders can still be applied while it runs.
The author notes that the mod behaves differently depending on the PC environment, and that at low frame rates the generated frames can show ghosting artifacts. A tab in the video settings lets players switch frame generation off. The author also reports that parts of the code were written with Codex. Mine Frame Gen runs on the client alone, so a server does not need it. The mod is published for Fabric and NeoForge across five release versions: 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.8, 1.21.11 and 26.1.2, and it is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Key features
Generated intermediate frames
Frame C is created from a blend of the last rendered frame, letting the display show more frames than the game renders.
Frame generation toggle
A tab in the video settings turns frame generation off, so players can compare the result with the original output.
Shader compatibility
Frame blending runs even when a shader pack is applied, according to the author.
Ghosting at low frame rates
When the base frame rate is low, generated frames can show ghosting artifacts, which the author documents.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players who want a higher displayed frame rate in their own client, and who accept some visual artifacts when the base frame rate is low. Server owners do not need to install anything for it.
