MAtmos - Ambient sound
by tc.gaming108
MAtmos plays ambient environmental sounds that change with the biome, time and weather around the player, so a world sounds different in forests, caves and villages.
What it does
The mod adds sounds for birds, crows, crickets, wolves, frogs and insects, along with creaking branches, wind gusts and storms. Cave echoes and underground reverb are added for enclosed spaces, and the Nether gets its own atmospheric effects. Interaction sounds for items and inventory handling are included as well, with separate sounds for surface and underwater play.
The sound system checks where the player stands and adapts the audio in real time. Forests, deserts, swamps, plains, indoors, outdoors, cliffs and areas near water each get a different mix. Sounds move spatially, approaching or fading with the distance to their source. Settings can be adjusted through the TCT Core menu, which lets players change the volume of each audio category in Minecraft's sound options.
The mod requires TCT Core, and TCTCore 5.2 or newer must be installed beside it. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across 20 release versions, and the code is under All rights reserved.

Use cases
Quiet exploration
Players walking through forests or plains hear wildlife and wind that match their surroundings, without any change to gameplay.
Underground travel
Cave echoes and reverb mark the difference between open terrain and enclosed rock as the player descends.
Who it’s for: Players who want a more immersive soundscape in survival or exploration worlds, and server owners who want the same ambience for every player on a multiplayer server. Both sides must run the mod for the sound effects to stay in sync.
