MaoPhone adds a virtual phone to Forge 1.20.1 that players use to take photos, track movement steps, and call other players.
What it does
Players open the phone to take photos, save them, and send them to other players. The phone also includes a compass that shows orientation in real time, and a step recorder that counts movement in survival and adventure modes. Step totals feed a ranking list that resets each Earth day, and a set of games adds scoring and ranking lists of its own.
Calling works through SimpleVoiceChat: each player is assigned a random phone number, which lets players reach each other remotely by voice. Running it requires RFMCore, the central control mod the Run Money Minecraft video series was built on. The client and server both need the mod, so every player on a server that runs it needs it too.
The public release is labeled a trial version and keeps only the phone's native functions, with the features tied to the series removed. Files are published for Forge 1.20.1 only, and the latest file is 1.7.367, dated 2026-10-11. The code is under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
