Mace Backport brings the 1.21 mace combat mechanics to Minecraft 1.16.5 on Forge, with smash attacks, wind explosions and enchantments.
What it does
The mod adds a mace weapon whose heavy smash attack depends on how far the player falls before striking. A wind charge projectile produces wind explosions that push nearby entities back. Players can craft the mace, the wind charge and the related items from full recipes.
Enchantments carried over from the 1.21 mace are included, along with an extra custom enchantment and Wind Burst. One enchantment, Thor, summons lightning on hit. The mod is published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.16.5, and is distributed under the MIT License without being open source.
Installation covers the server and each player's game. The only build is 1.0.0 for 1.16.5, marked as a beta release and published on 2026-05-12.

The mace deals extra damage on a smash attack after a fall, and the bonus scales with the height of the drop.

A thrown wind charge creates a burst of air that knocks back entities caught in its radius.

Thor enchantment
The Thor enchantment calls down a lightning strike when the mace hits a target.
