Lumenfuchs' Dummy
With Lumenfuchs' Dummy installed, a humanoid entity watches players from a distance and slowly closes in on them, ignoring obstacles along its path.
What it does
The mod is a datapack that adds two pseudo-entities whose compositions and behaviors do not follow conventional entity logic. The Dummy is a humanoid that observes players who are unaware of its presence. When it has been looking at a target for a while, it approaches, and getting close usually ends with the target approaching the Dummy.
The Seeker is a lesser variant that can be told apart by its pumpkin head. Unlike the Dummy, it targets non-player creatures and harms them with weak, consistent thorns. It does not spawn naturally. The datapack is configurable in-game through the lumenfuchs.settings trigger, and behaviors are described in Dummy's Usage Manual.
Lumenfuchs' Dummy is open source and released under the MIT License. Server owners install it, and players can join with or without it. Files cover 1.21.2 – 1.21.8 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and it is also available as a data pack. The latest file is 1.6.1+mod for 1.21.8, published 2025-06-19.
Key features
Humanoid observer
The Dummy watches players who are unaware of it and slowly approaches a chosen target.
Grim blast attack
A close-range blast leaves both the attacker and the victim vulnerable, so the encounter often ends in a kill.
Summonable entity
The Dummy can be summoned by mimicking the Iron Golem build with black-dyed material and a Glowstone block.
Seeker variant
A pumpkin-headed lesser variant attacks non-player creatures with thorns and drops a spawn egg when defeated.
In-game settings
Behaviors can be changed in-game through the lumenfuchs.settings trigger, and a usage manual lists them.
