Low Durability Warning
by Astralis
Low Durability Warning sends an on-screen alert when a tool or armor piece is close to breaking, so the player can react before the item is lost mid-task.
What it does
Equipment is checked as its durability drops. A yellow alert appears at a threshold the player can set, an orange alert follows as the item keeps wearing down, and a red critical alert fires when the item is near breaking. Each level has its own message, and the colors can be changed through the config.
The alerts cover items in the main hand and the four armor slots for helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots. Wings have a separate toggle, and an option limits warnings to enchanted items only. Messages use Minecraft color codes, which keeps them readable against the game's own text.
The mod is client-side only, so only the player's own game needs it and servers can run without it. It requires Fabric API. Cloth Config API and Mod Menu are optional, and Cloth Config API adds a settings screen for the thresholds and toggles. Files exist for Fabric only, for 1.21.11, and the code is released under the MIT License as open source.
Key features

Use cases
Long mining trips
A pickaxe that breaks mid-cave is the case the mod targets, since the red alert gives time to swap tools.
Long fights
Armor and weapons on a boss run can be checked before the final stretch, not after the last hit.
Who it’s for: Players who run survival, modded or hardcore worlds and want to see equipment wear before it breaks. Players who prefer no HUD messages can disable the alerts entirely.
