Last Death Coords

by SUzoMaceYT

When a character dies, Last Death Coords shows the exact X, Y and Z position of the death in chat and on the death screen.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21.9 – 1.21.11

What it does

Once the mod is installed, a death prints the block position where the player fell, formatted with clear X, Y and Z values. The same coordinates appear directly on the death screen, so a player can read them without opening the chat log. A toggle command switches the display off and back on at any time, and the chosen setting is written to a config file so it stays in place after the game restarts.

Because the mod runs only on the client, players can add it to single-player worlds and to multiplayer servers without any server installation. It requires Fabric and is built for lightweight use, so it adds little to the game's work. The mod is published for Fabric only, for 1.21.9 – 1.21.11, and its code is released under the MIT License, though it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Death location in chat

A death sends a message with the position where the player died, using formatted coordinates.

  2. Death screen overlay

The same position is drawn on the death screen, so it is visible at the moment it matters.

  3. Simple toggle command

A command turns the coordinate display on or off whenever a player wants, without restarting the game.

  4. Saved settings

The selected option is written to a config file and stays active after the game is restarted.

Use cases

Recovering dropped items

After a death, the stored coordinates show where the items were left, which makes a quick recovery easier.

Who it’s for: Players who lose items to death often and want to find the spot quickly, in single-player worlds or on multiplayer servers where the client alone is enough.
