Lag Notifier is a Fabric HUD mod that shows server lag ticks on screen, so players can tell when the server is stuttering.
What it does
Lag Notifier shows real-time server tick information directly in the game. Once a stutter happens, the on-screen readout shows the elapsed time since the last server tick, so the duration of the slowdown is visible at a glance rather than estimated.
The HUD is customizable: position, scale, colors and background can be set in the in-game settings menu, and shadowed text backgrounds keep the readout visible against any environment. Out of the box, lag alerts are drawn in the upper-left area of the display. Severity is color-coded, with minor, moderate and severe lag shown through distinct visual cues.
The mod is client-side only, and it is a lightweight mod that needs no server-side installation. Lag Notifier is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. It is published for Fabric only, across 7 release versions, 1.21.8 – 26.1.2, with 1.0.7 for 26.1.2 as the latest file. Required dependencies are Cloth Config API, Fabric API and Mod Menu, and Mod Menu is needed for configuration on 1.21.9 and above.
