KillTheRNG
KillTheRNG is a Forge library that makes Minecraft's random number generation deterministic for speedrunning and research.
What it does
The library patches the game so that random outcomes come from a JavaRandom source with a fixed, controllable sequence. Each random call then returns the same result for the same state, which lets runs be repeated exactly. Seeds can be changed individually for scientific testing of how the game's randomness behaves.
Key features
Deterministic randomness
Patches route Minecraft's random calls through JavaRandom, so identical inputs produce identical outcomes.
Removes game RNG
The mod strips out the game's usual unpredictable randomness, replacing it with a controlled sequence.
Per-seed control
Random seeds can be changed individually, which supports experiments on specific random events.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
