Keyyyyyyyy is a client-side mod that makes held keys repeat on the keyboard in older Minecraft versions.

What it does

Older versions of the game ignored held keys after the first press. This mod turns on keyboard repeat events, so a held key keeps sending input the way it does in a text field on a desktop. It targets LWJGL's keyboard class and is built for Fabric, Forge, Legacy Fabric and Ornithe, with releases covering 1.0 – 1.12.2 and the latest file, 3.0.1, dated 2026-08-27, published for 1.12.2. Only the client needs it, since the server side is untouched.

What the author says

This mod does not have any specific minecraft versions attached, as it only targets LWJGL's keyboard class. Forge should work down to whatever version LaunchWrapper was implemented (1.6.2?), Fabric may work on all versions. This mod was tested with 1.8-1.12.2 in the past, so these versions should be considered stable.
