Keep Swimming
by solyze
Keep Swimming keeps the player afloat in water during actions that would normally make them sink, such as typing chat, editing signs, trading with villagers and opening inventories.
What it does
Normally a player who performs these actions in water sinks to the bottom. With the mod installed, the player stays on the surface while using chat, signs, villager trades and inventory screens. Two options control the behavior: one makes the swimming effect always apply, and another extends it to flight permissions, creative mode and similar states.
The mod is published for Fabric only, for the 1.21.11 – 26.2 range across 3 release versions. Because it runs on both client and server, the server and every player need it. The code is released under the Apache License 2.0 and is open source, with public links for the source and an issue tracker.
The mod is listed in the Social category and also appears under Adventure, Game mechanics and Utility. Its latest Fabric file targets 26.2, and it was first published on 2025-12-30 and last updated on 2026-07-09.

Use cases
Water bases
Players who build or work at water-side bases can use menus and screens without losing their position in the water.
Flight and creative play
The extended option covers flight permissions and creative mode, so the floating behavior applies there too.
Who it’s for: Players who spend time in water and want to use chat, signs, villagers and inventories there, and server owners who want the same behavior for every player on their server.
