Journey Titles
by imalittlhigh
Journey Titles lets server owners place titles on signs, so that players who enter a set range see a title shown on screen.
What it does
Titles are crafted in tiers, from copper through iron, gold, diamond and netherite, and each tier covers a larger area: 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 blocks. A title is created by right-clicking a sign with a title item and writing text on its front side. Each sign can hold only one title, and a title tier is a small block that can be placed on its own.
The mod runs on the server, and players join without installing anything, so the client stays optional. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering the game versions 1.21.2 – 1.21.5, and the Data pack is also available for server platforms. Titles display only while a player is inside the range, and they show again after the player re-enters it. Broken signs drop their title item, and glow ink can make the text stand out underlined.
The MIT License applies to the code, and the mod is not open source. The datapack version is a reworked release of the original work by HopeVox. Because titles are keyed by integer UUIDs, the pack stops working once a world holds more than 2147483647 titles, which is a limit to plan around in a long-lived world.
Key features
Tiered title ranges
Titles come in five tiers from copper to netherite, each with a wider display range from 10 to 200 blocks.
Signs as title holders
Right-click a sign with a title item to write its text on the front side. A broken sign drops its title item.
Entry-based display
A title appears only while a player is inside its range and is hidden once the player leaves.
Glow ink styling
Glow ink can be applied to the sign text, so the title is displayed underlined and stands out.
