JoinJail

by Codx

Server owners who run offline-mode servers can use JoinJail to hold newly joining players in a bedrock jail until they set a password.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT License1.19.3 – 1.20

What it does

JoinJail generates a small bedrock jail far from the world spawn. Newly joining players appear inside it, and the only way out is to set a password with the command provided. Until then the player stays locked in, which lets a server check that the account behind an offline-mode login belongs to the person using it.

The mod also manages access in a few other ways. A selected player can be banned with a given reason, a ban can be reversed with the regular pardon command, and a list command shows every whitelisted player. A player who dies in the jail respawns inside it on the first tick after spawning. Fabric API is required.

JoinJail is server-side only, so players join without installing anything. It is published for Fabric alone, for 1.19.3, 1.19.4 and 1.20, with 1.5.0 for 1.20 as the latest file, released under the MIT License. The code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Bedrock jail

The mod generates a bedrock enclosure far from spawn, where new players are placed when they join.

  2. Password gate

Players stay in the jail until they set a password, which is the only exit from it.

  3. Set new password

A command lets a player change an existing password, so access can be reset without leaving the jail.

  4. Ban with reason

An administrator can ban a selected player and attach a reason to the ban.

  5. Whitelist list

A list command shows the players who are currently whitelisted on the server.

What the author says

This mod generates a bedrock jail / holding place very very very far away from spawn. The only way to leave the jail is by using the set password. If a user dies in the jail they will spawn outside the jail but the first tick after spawning they will be back in the jail. /joinjail is the command and should be…
