JavaScriptJS
by yiran1457
JavaScriptJS is a Forge utility that lets KubeJS scripts create, read, check and delete files from the game's directories.
What it does
Scripts run through KubeJS can write a JavaScript file to disk, and the mod creates any missing parent directories before writing. The same applies to JSON files, so a script can save generated data as structured output. A helper finds the paths of all JSON or JS files inside a given directory, which lets a script list what it has to process.
Before any file operation runs, the mod checks that the file suffix is on its allowed list. A script can also check whether a file exists before it reads or deletes it. Deletion is available as its own operation. Because the functions are exposed to KubeJS, the mod has no screens or commands of its own and is used only from scripts.
JavaScriptJS requires KubeJS. It is published for Forge only, in 12 release versions 1.19 – 1.20.6. Either side can run it, and neither needs it, so it works on a client alone, a server alone or both. The code is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and is open source.
Key features
Write JavaScript files
Scripts can write a JavaScript file to a chosen path through KubeJS.
Suffix filtering
File operations are allowed only for suffixes on the mod's list, which limits what scripts can touch.
Check and delete
Scripts can test whether a file exists and remove a file when it is no longer needed.

Use cases
Generated data files
A pack script can produce JSON data files at build or startup and store them in nested folders without creating the folders by hand.
Batch processing
A script can list every JS or JSON file in a folder and run a step on each one.
Who it’s for: Modpack authors and server owners who write KubeJS scripts that need to read or write files on disk.
How it compares
Global Server Config is server-side only, open source under The Unlicense, and covers 1.18.2 – 1.20.4 on Forge, so it does not overlap with JavaScriptJS's version range beyond 1.20.4. KubeJS ProjectE Fork is a Forge fork for 1.20.1 that runs on client and server and is open source under the MIT License, while GeckoJS is also Forge-only for 1.20.1, client and server, and open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
