Item Use Delay Fixer
by Ghosty920
Item Use Delay Fixer changes how held right-click item use repeats, so an item still fires when the player keeps the button down through the delay timer.
What it does
Normally, pressing right click on a use item starts a variable at 4 ticks, and the variable drops by one each 50 ms tick. Once it reaches zero, the game tries the use again if the button is still held, but the timer can make a use that was intended never happen when the click lands at a bad moment. The mod removes that delay for holding right click, so the use repeats as soon as the timer allows.
The fix works on the client only, so servers and other players need nothing installed. Item Use Delay Fixer is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and its source code and issue tracker are public. Builds cover 1.7.2 – 26.3 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with 84 release versions, and the latest file is 1.0.1 for 26.3.
Key features
Held right-click repeat
Holding right click keeps retrying the item use instead of waiting out the full delay before each attempt.
Timer behaviour fix
The delay variable no longer stops a use from happening when the player presses the button at an awkward moment.
Tick-based timing
The fix follows the game's 50 ms tick, so the retry rhythm matches the timer the game already uses.
Client-only install
Only the player's game needs the mod, so a server can run without it.

Use cases
Timing-sensitive items
Players who find that a held use item misfires when clicked at a bad moment can keep the button down and let the use repeat.
Who it’s for: Players who use held right-click items often and find the default use delay gets in the way. Its scope is the use delay on the client side, so it has no effect on server rules.
How it compares
Right Click Fixer is a Fabric-only, client-side mod for 1.20 – 26.2 under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, so it is public domain in practice. Configurable Mining Delay is also Fabric-only and client-side, but it targets mining rather than use, covers 1.19 – 26.3, and is released under the MIT License. Item Use Delay Fixer is open source under GPL-3.0 and also runs on Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.

What the author says
Fixes a behaviour in the game with the right click (use item) delay timer. Minecraft is simple on that part. If you press the right click button, it sets a variable to 4.
