Iris/Oculus Shader Folder
by SpacEagle17
Shader pack selection in Iris and Oculus can be filtered, recoloured and reordered with patterns through Shader Folder, a client-side utility for the Iris/Oculus shaders menu.
What it does
Shader packs that appear in the Iris or Oculus menu can be hidden by name, version or regular expression. Entries can be reordered by pattern or by fixed position, and parts of a pack name can be recoloured with Minecraft colour codes. Renaming only changes what the menu shows; the files on disk keep their names.
The mod does not load shaders. Its work is limited to organising and labelling the selection list, so a shader pack still has to be loaded by Iris or Oculus. Custom tooltips can be attached to individual packs in the menu, and configuration changes take effect without a restart. Debug output can be written to a log file when a rule does not behave as expected.
Installation needs Iris Shaders and Oculus, which are required dependencies. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files covering 1.14 – 26.3 across 48 release versions, and it runs on the client alone. The code is open source under the MIT License, and snapshot builds are published as well.
Key features
Pattern-based hiding
Shader packs can be hidden by name, version or regex pattern, which keeps unwanted entries out of the menu.
Menu reordering
Packs can be moved by pattern or to a set position, so preferred shaders appear first in the list.
Recoloured names
Whole names or parts of names can be coloured with Minecraft colour codes to make groups easier to spot.
Display-only renaming
Names shown in the menu can differ from the actual file names, which stay unchanged on disk.
Custom tooltips
Each shader pack can receive a tooltip in the menu, with text chosen in the configuration.

Use cases
Large shader collections
Players with many installed packs can hide the ones they rarely use and keep the rest in a stable order.
Pack testing
Debug logging helps a player see which rule matched a pack while adjusting patterns.
Who it’s for: Players who keep several shader packs in Iris or Oculus and want a cleaner selection menu. Mod users on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt who only need a client-side change can install it without touching the server.
How it compares
Iris/Oculus & GeckoLib Compat is a client-side compatibility mod for 1.18.2 – 1.21 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, released under the MIT License. Shader Cycler is a client-side mod for 1.20.1 – 1.21.11 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and its license is All rights reserved, so its code is not open source. Shader Folder covers a wider range of loaders and versions and organises the menu rather than cycling shaders.
