Instamine

by m9rgen

Instamine lets selected blocks such as deepslate and end stone break at the speed of regular stone, using the hardness value set in its config.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source26.1 – 26.3

What it does

The mod changes mining progress for blocks chosen in its list, leaving the blocks themselves untouched. The formula matches vanilla's, except it divides a configured target hardness instead of the block's own value. Tools with Efficiency or Haste still speed up mining as usual, the correct tool is still needed for drops, and blast resistance is unchanged. Only the time to break a block shifts.

Block selection happens through a Mod Menu config screen or a config file. Switches are available for ore, log and plank groups, along with a master on/off setting, and anything outside those groups stays in the block list. Instamine needs Cloth Config API, and Mod Menu is optional. The mod is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric only, for 26.1 – 26.3, with 1.2.11+26.3 as the latest file.

Key features

  1. Configurable block list

Individual blocks such as deepslate and end stone can be added to the list and given a custom target hardness.

  2. Category toggles

Separate switches cover ores, logs and planks, so whole groups can be enabled without typing each block.

  3. Master switch

A single setting turns the whole effect on or off without clearing the block list.

  4. Mining speed only

Only the time to break a block changes, while drops and the required tool stay as they are in vanilla.

Use cases

Building on deepslate

Players who dislike slow deepslate mining can speed up that stone while keeping normal tool requirements.

Multiplayer servers

Server owners can apply the change to every player, since the effect runs on the server.

Who it’s for: Players who find harder blocks tedious and server owners who want to set mining times for their world. Instamine changes mining speed only and does not affect block drops or tool requirements.

Questions

Does Instamine need Cloth Config API?

Yes. Cloth Config API is required, and dedicated servers still need it installed. Mod Menu is optional and only adds a config screen.

Does a player need Instamine to join a server that runs it?

No. The mod works server-side, so a player can join without installing it, though the client install is recommended to keep the mining animation consistent.

Can the block list be changed on a dedicated server?

Yes, by editing the config file, since a dedicated server cannot use the Mod Menu screen.

What the author says

Mining deepslate has always felt inconsistent. Same tools, same enchants, slower mining speed for no meaningful gameplay reason. Instamine fixes that by reducing the hardness of selected blocks to match the hardness of regular stone. This means with Efficiency V & Haste II, affected blocks become practically…
