Inkraft
by qyl27
Inkraft lets Minecraft conversations and scripted events be written in the Ink script language, driven entirely by commands.
What it does
Inkraft is a utility and library for writing interactive conversations in Minecraft with the Ink script language. The whole game engine runs through commands, so other mods can work alongside it without a special bridge. Scripts reach the game through a set of external functions that the mod provides to Ink code.
The mod can be installed on a server alone, and players join without needing it. Its external functions let a script read and change player inventories, check the in-game world time and real-world time, execute commands, and operate scoreboards and command storage. Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge, covering 26.1 and 26.1.2, under a custom license that is not open source. Installation on either loader needs only the mod itself, since no other dependency is listed.
Key features
Ink script conversations
Dialogue and branching conversations are written in the Ink script language and played in the game world.
Command-driven engine
Every part of the engine is triggered through commands, which lets scripts combine with other command-based mods.
Inventory access
Scripts can read and modify player inventories, so a conversation can hand out or take away items.
World and real-world time
Scripts can query the in-game world time and the real-world clock, for timed or date-based events.
Scoreboards and storage
Scripts can operate scoreboards and command storage to keep state between events.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Quest dialogue
A quest giver can run a branching conversation whose choices change scoreboard values and hand out items.
Timed events
A script can check the world time or the real-world time and trigger an event only at a set moment.
Who it’s for: Map makers, quest designers and server owners who want scripted conversations driven by commands. Players on a server that runs the mod need nothing extra, because the server can run it without client installs.
How it compares
Ren'mi is a Fabric-only option for 26.1.2, open source under the MIT License and run by client and server together. Katton supports Fabric and NeoForge across the same range with the same client and server environment, and is open source under the MIT License. Inkraft is not open source and uses a custom license, while it also covers both loaders.
