Individual Keep Inventory (Updated)

by MCMD Studios

Individual Keep Inventory changes how the keepInventory gamerule behaves, so that it applies to each player on a server separately.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.2 – 26.2

What it does

The mod is a fork of an earlier project, updated so it keeps working on newer Minecraft versions after the original stopped being maintained. With the mod installed, the vanilla keepInventory gamerule has no effect, and each player's own setting decides whether that player keeps inventory on death. Fabric API is required. The mod is server-side only, so vanilla clients can join servers that run it without installing anything. It is published for Fabric for 1.21.2 – 26.2, and it is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Per-player keep inventory

Keep inventory is decided for each player rather than for the whole world, so one player's death can be handled differently from another's.

  2. Gamerule replaced

The vanilla gamerule keepInventory no longer changes anything on the server while the mod is active.

  3. Server-side operation

Only the server runs the mod, and players connect with an unmodified vanilla client.
