Independent Gizmo lets players move the debug gizmo to a key of their choice, separate from the F3 debug screen map toggle.

What it does

The mod decouples the debug gizmo from the F3 debug screen, so the gizmo can be shown or hidden with its own key instead of the default grave accent. An attack indicator shows while the gizmo is active. It is a Fabric mod that needs Fabric API, and it runs on the client alone, so servers do not need it. Files exist for 1.16 – 1.21.10, and the latest build for 1.21.10 is 1.0.2+1.21.9, published 2025-10-02 under the MIT License, which makes the mod open source.

Key features

  1. Separate gizmo key

    The debug gizmo gets its own key binding, so it no longer has to be toggled through the F3 debug screen.

  2. Attack indicator

    An attack indicator is drawn while the gizmo is active, showing when the player is attacking.

  3. Remapped default key

    The gizmo keeps the grave accent as its default, and players can change it in the controls menu.

What the author says

This is a simple fabric mod that decouples the debug gizmo from the debug screen, and map its toggle to a different key (default being () grave-accent). It also shows the attack indicator when the gizmo is active. I have no plans on porting this to forge, but the license is MIT, so if someone wants to, they're free to.
