Improved Spiders

Improved Spiders changes how spiders appear and behave in the world, adding four new spider types, spider dens and a set of new items.
What it does
The mod adds four new spider types that can spawn in the world, including a spider queen boss. Spiders and cave spiders have a chance to be replaced by these types. Spider dens are new structures that generate in forest-like biomes, with cobwebs and spiders between 3 and 8 inactive around them, and the mod also places items in the Abandoned Mineshaft chest.
Improved Spiders is needed on the server, while players may leave it out and still join. It is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for game versions 1.21.5 – 1.21.10. It can also be installed as a data pack, so the mod's spawns and structures are available without loader files. The code is not open source and is licensed as All rights reserved. Its latest file, 2.2+mod for 1.21.10, was published on 2025-10-02.

Four new spider types
Webber, Venomous, Egg Carrier and Healer spiders spawn in the world, each with its own behavior.
Webber and Venomous spiders
A Webber spider throws webs that leave cobwebs where they land, and a Venomous spider throws venom that creates a poison cloud.
Egg Carrier and Healer spiders
An Egg Carrier spider spawns many baby spiders when killed, and a Healer spider heals nearby spiders for a few seconds.
Spider queen and spider dens
A spider queen boss can spawn, and spider dens generate as structures with unique item drops and a Warrior spider chance.
