Basin Generation Fix
by PizzaEight
Basin Generation Fix restores basins, a rare small terrain feature that strips the top layer of a biome's surface down to a stony floor.
What it does
Basins are small, uncommon terrain features that remove the upper surface of the surrounding biome, leaving bare stone behind. A bug stopped them from generating in later versions, and this mod brings them back into new worlds. It is distributed as a data pack as well as mod files for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and its files target 1.21 – 1.21.10. The server must run it for basins to appear, while players may leave it out.
Key features
Restored basin terrain
Basins return to world generation, cutting bare stone patches into biome surfaces where they occur.
Livelier landscapes
Exposed stony floors give terrain more variety and a sense of age in newly generated areas.
Data pack option
A data pack version lets servers apply the fix without installing a mod loader.

What the author says
Basins are a small, rare terrain feature that strips away the top layer of a biome's surface, leaving a stony floor. This makes the minecraft world feel more alive and gives it some age. Due to a bug they stopped generating in 1.18. This mod/datapack adds them back to worldgeneration, fixing the issue
