Immersive Craft
by McJty
Immersive Craft replaces point-and-click crafting with in-world interaction: chests, cupboards and furnaces that players open and use directly on the blocks themselves.
What it does
Immersive Craft adds a workbench that players build by placing two logs in the world and right-clicking them, and a chest that shows its items visually so players can see and handle them where they stand. A cupboard mounts on a wall in the same way. The furnace works like the vanilla one but is operated through in-world interaction, and flint and steel are needed to ignite its coal. The workbench is still a work in progress and only crafts a limited number of items for now, with more planned for later updates.
The mod also lets players place tools such as axes and swords onto blocks by right-clicking while pressing P, and four items can be set flat on a vertical face. Sticks and rocks can be generated as world features, which can be disabled in the config. The author notes that the mod is still a work in progress and that the chisel and saw are meant for the toolslot at the workbench. Immersive Craft requires McJtyLib, and the 1.12 release no longer needs CompatLayer.
Forge is the only loader, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Immersive Craft is open source under the MIT License. Files exist for 1.8.9 – 1.12.2, and the 1.10.2 and 1.11.2 builds share the same JAR. The latest file, 1.12-1.6.0 for 1.12.2, was published on 2023-01-26. Aqua Munda requires this mod.

Use cases
Building and display scenes

Who it’s for: Players who want crafting and storage to happen on physical blocks in the world. The mod is still a work in progress, and feedback from players is welcome.
