Ice And Fire: Dragon Care

by Orion_Dragon

With the IceAndFire Community Edition installed, Ice And Fire: Dragon Care adds long-term care systems for tamed dragons, from bonding and feeding to ash exposure and tracking.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Dragon Care expands the dragons of IceAndFire Community Edition from enemies and mounts into companions that have their own care needs. Players build a bond with a tamed dragon over time by feeding it and treating it carefully, and higher bond levels bring symbiotic effects that help the player. Dragon fruit can be planted, grown from seed and harvested for dragon-related use, and a dragon phone overlay lists tamed dragons with names, growth stages and distances in real time.

Ash from dragons is treated as an environmental hazard. An Ash Sensor finds toxic areas, and Ash Tablets treat poisoning. World structures such as ruined hunter camps, abandoned guild halls and ruined dragon forges can be found while exploring, and many values are set in configuration files, including structure generation, ash cleaning difficulty, tool durability, cooldowns and dragon behavior. The mod is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later and is still in active development. Forge and NeoForge builds cover 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and both sides need the mod. Just Enough Items (JEI) is optional.

Key features

  1. Dragon bonding

Bond levels rise as a tamed dragon is fed and treated, and higher levels grant symbiotic effects.

  2. Dragon fruit farming

Dragon fruit grows from seeds through visible stem stages and can be harvested for dragon-related gameplay.

  3. Dragon phone tracking

A custom device shows a HUD overlay listing each tamed dragon with its name, growth stage, index number and distance.

  4. Ash poisoning

Dragon ash spreads as a hazard, and players locate toxic areas with an Ash Sensor and cure poisoning with Ash Tablets.

  5. Configurable gameplay

Structure generation, ash cleaning difficulty, tool durability, cooldowns and dragon behavior can all be adjusted in configuration files.
