Hopper Pots lets hoppers feed items into Decorated Pots even when the hopper does not face the pot directly.

FabricQuiltServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.4 – 1.21

What it does

Standard hoppers only move items into a Decorated Pot when they point straight at it. Hopper Pots changes that so a hopper placed beside or near a pot can still insert items into it, which makes pot storage and item sorting builds simpler to lay out. Vanilla pot behavior is otherwise kept.

The mod is a server-side change, so only the server needs it and players join without installing anything. It requires Fabric API and Nixienaut, and the code is open source under the MIT License. Files exist for Fabric and Quilt across four game versions, 1.20.4 – 1.21, with 1.0.1+1.21 as the latest build for 1.21.

Snapshot builds are published alongside the release files. The project keeps public links to its source code and an issue tracker, and the first build dates from 2024-04-26, with the last update on 2024-08-08.

Key features

  1. Side-facing input

Hoppers can insert items into Decorated Pots without facing them, widening where a pot can sit in a hopper line.

  2. Vanilla pot behavior

Decorated Pots keep their usual storage and sherd behavior; only the hopper input rule changes.

  3. Custom mod icon

The project ships its own icon, which appears in mod lists and loader menus.

Use cases

Compact storage lines

Pots can be placed in tight rows beside hoppers, so a chain of storage fits in less space.

Item sorting builds

Hoppers that run past a pot can route items into it without rebuilding the belt around a single facing direction.

Who it’s for: Players who build hopper-based storage or sorting systems on a Fabric or Quilt server, and server owners who want pot inputs to work from more hopper layouts.

How it compares

Full comparison

Enhanced Pots covers a similar Decorated Pots topic on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21 – 1.21.1, with a server-required, client-optional environment and the MIT License, but it is not open source. Shift Click Decorated Pots is a client-side only Fabric mod for 1.20.4 – 1.21.8 under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, so it changes only the client-side interaction. Hopper Pots is server-side only and does not add any client interaction.

Questions

Does Hopper Pots need Fabric API?

Does every player need Hopper Pots installed?

No. Server owners install it, and players connect with no copy of their own.

Which game versions does Hopper Pots support?

Files exist for 1.20.4, 1.20.5, 1.20.6 and 1.21, with 1.0.1+1.21 as the latest build for 1.21 on Fabric and Quilt.
